There are recognitions that come as confirmation of something that already existed. The 40 Hours Seal is one of them.
The Labor Directorate has officially certified Acid Labs with the 40 Hours Seal, a recognition from the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare that validates companies operating with workweeks of 40 hours or less. For us, this certification does not signify a change in direction, but rather formalizes a conviction that we have been putting into practice for some time.
What is the 40-Hour Seal and Why Does It Matter?
The 40-Hour Seal is a public and free certification granted by the Ministry of Labor to companies of any size or sector that implement regular work hours of 40 hours or less. Its purpose goes beyond regulatory compliance: it aims to promote decent work, well-being, and a new work culture based on mutual cooperation.
To obtain it, a company must demonstrate that more than 80% of its contracts operate within that time range. Certified companies also receive official sponsorship from the Ministry, allowing them to use that endorsement in their communications and activities.
In the case of Acid Labs, the certification confirms that more than 80% of our contracts were already operating with workweeks of between 30 and 40 hours, anticipating Law 21.561 before it became mandatory to do so.
Why at Acid Labs We Adopted This Practice Much Earlier
We didn't wait for the law to force us.
We made this decision because we genuinely believe that people work better when they also have time to live.
This is not just a corporate wellness stance. It has a concrete logic: teams that rest well, that have space for their personal projects, their family, and their health, arrive with more energy, more creativity, and more commitment. And that, inevitably, translates into better results for our clients.
With more than 720 global talents and operations in Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Mexico, and the United States, building a healthy work culture is not optional. It is a condition for maintaining the level of excellence that defines us.
What Changes in Practice with this Certification?
For those who are already part of Acid Labs, the label does not change their day-to-day life, because that reality already existed. What it does is provide official backing to something they were already experiencing. It is the difference between a promise and a guarantee.
For those who are looking for work and considering Acid Labs as a potential employer, the seal serves as a verifiable signal. For the state and society, it represents a formal guarantee of the company's labor standards, aligned with the goal of advancing towards fairer and more collaborative labor relations.
The Team that Made This Possible
A certification like this is not obtained alone. It requires consistent decisions over time, well-implemented policies, and a People Ops team that works every day to ensure that the experience of people at Acid Labs lives up to what we promise.
Thanks to every person on the team who contributed to building this culture. This recognition belongs to everyone.
One More Step on the Path to a #RadicallyBetter Company
The 40 Hours Seal is one piece within a broader vision: to build a company where technology and people advance together. Where excellence is not achieved at the expense of well-being, but thanks to it.
We will continue to make decisions that reflect that conviction, with or without certifications in between. Although, when they arrive, they remind us that we are on the right path.
